Catholic Charities in Dutchess (Poughkeepsie)
provides accurate and timely information and referrals and will help act as service advocate in times of family crisis. Other direct services are case management/service coordination, emergency assistance (rent, utilities, transportation, food, clothing), benefit screening, entitlement assistance and more.
Catholic Charities also provides food stamps outreach and application assistance to Dutchess residents. Staff will help individuals determine if they are eligible, help fill out applications and assist in gathering supporting documentation to be submitted to their local food stamps office. Catholic Charities participates in the Nutrition Outreach and Education Program (NOEP) through a grant received by Hunger Solutions of NYS, USDA/FNS and NYSOTDA.
